Absentee ballots are available starting February 16th, 2026 and must be received in person by 12:00pm on April 2nd, 2026.
Absentee ballots through mail must be received by CLMCD before April 2nd, 2026 to be counted.
Postmarked ballots of April 2nd, 2026 will not be counted!
How to receive an absentee ballot:
1. Provide photo ID proving residency in Chippewa. Luce, or Mackinac county and legal age to vote. Absentee ballots must be picked up in person at the CLMCD office.
2. Completely fill out a voter registration card and provide to CLMCD
Voter will be provided a, absentee ballot if the above requirements are met. The voter can then cast their vote and place their absentee ballot in the provided sealed envelope and mail to:

Seeking Re-election for a 4-year term
Tom has served on the board of directors for 18 years. He has been a vital voice for our area's agriculture and natural resources. Currently, Tom serves as the treasurer of the board and oversees the finances of the district. Tom says this is his last term as a director, so we will be seeking to fill his seat in the future.

Tom is a long-time outdoorsman and conservationist, and is also a freelance writer who focuses on the outdoors. He enjoys serving his community and recently stepped in to fill an open board seat. He worked in public and media relations for 30 years, and recently retired from the International Bridge Administration.

Seeking to fill empty seat for a 2-year term
Louis is a familiar face to CLMCD, as he served as our forester for almost 2 years. Louis was born and raised in St. Ignace and now resides in Sault Ste. Marie with his wife. Louis is now working as a forester for the Michigan DNR.
