(Pinus resinosa) Fast-growing, long-lived tree growing up to 80 feet. Shade-intolerant. Grows best on well-drained sandy loam soil. Intolerant of high water tables. Excellent tree for reforestation on poor sandy sites. Timber tree with distinctive reddish bark. Native.
