Liatris pycnostachia, also known as Prairie Blazing Star, is a perennial wildflower native to Michigan and naturalized in the UP.
Plant reaches 4 feet tall and flowers from July to August with a stalk of purple blossoms.
It prefers full sun to partial shade, medium to wet soil and will grow in clay, loam or sand.
Single plants will come in plastic pots (Approx. 4” x 4 .5”) Plants will vary in size between 2 and 10 inches.
